WYCCP helps offenders who are being released from prison to integrate into the community through giving support both inside the prison and after release. Link workers are needed to work alongside key workers to establish and maintain contact with identified service users before and after their release from prison. Mentoring & Befriending Foundation – Volunteer Befrienders & Mentors

MBF are looking for 32 volunteers to act as mentors/befrienders to support disabled and disadvantaged individuals who have been made redundant or are threatened with redundancy. Initially volunteers will act in a befriending role offering emotional support to individuals and then progess towards a mentoring role helping to develop skills to gain employment or achieve greater independance.

The Fair Traders Cooperative help support producers by promoting sales of Fairtrade and ethical products.

There are three opportunities available:
- Retail Assistant – Needed to help with all aspect of operating shops in Holmfirth. For more details click here.

By popular demand, on Thursday 27th June (10am-4:30pm) Volunteering Kirklees will run a Volunteers And the Law course, aimed at managers, volunteer coordinators, trustees/management committee members and others in voluntary organisations with responsibility for managing volunteers. The course will be delivered by the highly experienced Sandy Adirondack, who has been a freelance trainer and consultant in the voluntary sector since 1980. Volunteers are required to help with the “Pass It On” charity shops which are part of the Yorkshire Children’s Centre. Volunteers are required to help out with looking through donated items for antiques and items of possible value. Also someone with a background in French polishing and furniture restoration. Dementia Support Volunteer

The aim of Making Space is to provide advice information and support for those living with dementia and their loved ones. Volunteers are required to help provide emotional support and understanding to people living with dementia. Groups are run around Kirklees and are informal in nature, providing tea and coffee , information, support and activities in a relaxed atmosphere. Click here for full details.
